The 7th Annual Special Education Workshop was hosted by our firm on November 1st and 2nd, 2017 at the Marriott Hotel in Baton Rouge, LA. This was our first time hosting at the newly-renovated Marriott, located off of Corporate Blvd. and I-10. We had 302 attendees at this year's workshop, including a full two days of sessions updating and refreshing educators on special education topics.
Our special education gurus Melissa Losch, Wayne Stewart, Pam DeLaune, and Ty Manieri presented our attendees with a large volume of vital information over the ten sessions, stopping to take as many questions as possible. Tangipahoa and Calcasieu Parish tied for the highest number of attendees for the workshop with 18 apiece. Our presenters provided a great learning environment for attendees of varying experience levels and fields.
Some of the topics covered included, IEE's, bullying, 504, and outside providers. Like our School Law Workshop, the last session is a Q&A where attendees get an opportunity to ask our presenters all of the questions they may have accumulated throughout the workshop.
It was our pleasure to host the Special Education Workshop this year, and we look forward to next year!
