John joined the firm of Hayes, Harkey, Smith & Cascio, LLP in Monroe, LA as an associate in 1990 and became a partner in January 1996. In 2023, Hayes Harkey was acquired by Hammonds, Sills, Adkins, Guice, Noah, & Perkins, LLP and John now serves as special counsel and will be practicing in the firm’s Monroe office.

Practicing in the area of defense litigation, including employment law, workers' compensation, and medical malpractice, civil rights litigation, construction disputes, legal malpractice, trucking accidents, automobile accidents, and general civil litigation in State and Federal Courts. John has successfully defended Doctors, Hospitals, Engineers and other professionals, as well as large corporate clients and Governmental Entities. These clients are often exposed to large monetary judgments and involve politically sensitive matters which demand working closely with clients to prepare a successful defense and understanding the effect of the litigation on the client’s professional reputation and future business.
