John B. Saye is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his BA from Millsaps College where he graduated cum laude in 1986. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1989 from Louisiana State University and was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1989. John was a clerk for the Honorable Michael S. Ingram and D. Milton Moore III, Fourth Judicial District Court, 1989-1990.
He is a member of the Fourth Judicial District (President, 1999), Louisiana State and American Bar Associations, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and Fred Fudickar, American Inn of Court.
John joined the firm of Hayes, Harkey, Smith & Cascio, LLP in Monroe, LA as an associate in 1990 and became a partner in January 1996. In 2023, Hayes Harkey was acquired by Hammonds, Sills, Adkins, Guice, Noah, & Perkins, LLP and John now serves as special counsel and is practicing in the firm’s Monroe office.
Practicing in the areas of defense litigation, including employment law, workers’ compensation, and medical malpractice, civil rights litigation, construction disputes, legal malpractice, trucking accidents, automobile accidents and general civil litigation in State and Federal Courts.
John has successfully defended Doctors, Hospitals, Engineers, and other professionals as well as large corporate clients and Governmental Entities. These clients are often exposed to large monetary judgments and involve politically sensitive matters which demand working closely with clients to prepare a successful defense and understanding the effect of the litigation on the client’s professional reputation and future business.
