Marissa Batiste is an exceptional member of the Hammonds, Sills, Adkins, Guice, Noah and Perkins team. Her areas of legal expertise encompass federal litigation, labor and employment law, and education law.
Her commitment to justice and the pursuit of excellence eventually led her to serve as a Law Clerk for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Here, Marissa’s legal expertise continued to flourish.
Beyond her professional life, Marissa is deeply invested in giving back to her community. During her free moments, she volunteers as a coach for the Mentorship Academy Cheerleaders, nurturing the talents and aspirations of the next generation. Additionally, she is a dedicated member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., a testament to her commitment to community service and sisterhood.
Marissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern University. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Southern University Law Center, where she embarked on her path to becoming an attorney. Not only did she graduate with her Juris Doctorate in 2019, but she did so with the extraordinary distinction of ranking 1st out of 105 students.
During her time at the Southern University Law Center, Marissa’s leadership abilities shone through as she assumed the role of Executive Editor of the Southern University Law Center Law Review. This position allowed her to showcase her formidable legal acumen and her gift for clear and persuasive communication.
